We have created several custom apps tailored to specific teams within our organization. However, we are currently unable to limit these apps to specific workspaces, so they are applied companywide. This has led to some confusion and frustration among our users.
A good example of where this becomes problematic is with our operations teams. They work with expedited orders that require very specific guidelines. We’ve developed an app that scans for specific terms using application objects, which then create links to our internal knowledgebase. One example is the term Expedite. Any time that word is received or sent, it automatically links to our knowledgebase article detailing the expedite guidelines. This functionality is only needed by our operations teams, but at the moment, it applies to the entire company. As a result, we’ve received complaints that it’s unnecessary and confusing for other teams.
If we were able to limit custom apps to specific workspaces, we could better control how these application objects impact different teams.
P.S.
We have reviewed the Front knowledgebase, but it currently doesn’t meet our specific needs. We already have a robust internal knowledgebase, and importing it into Front is not supported for our provider. Therefore, using the Front knowledgebase or duplicating specific articles in the Front knowledgebase isn’t feasible, especially since the application objects handle this well, aside from the limitation of not being able to restrict them to certain workspaces.
