Add another tier in the workspace for tags

Our department’s current email and tag structure within Front presents significant organizational challenges that affect efficiency and usability. Current Structure

  • The department consists of 12 offices.

  • Each office has:

    • One primary email address

    • One associate's email address

  • In total, this results in 24 email inboxes (which cannot be merged or unified.)

  • All offices operate under a single department workspace in Front.

Issue Identified: When the migration from Outlook to Front occurred, all existing email folders and subfolders—many of which had been created over several years—were imported as tags. As a result:

  • Hundreds, and potentially thousands, of tags now exist within the same workspace.

  • Tags from all offices are mixed, making them difficult to manage.

  • Tag overload reduces clarity, consistency, and efficiency across offices.

Proposed Improvement: It would be highly beneficial if Front offered a structure similar to “sub-workspaces” within a single department workspace. Under this model:

  • Each office could operate within its own sub-workspace.

  • Tags, features, and contacts would be independent and specific to each office.

  • Offices could maintain autonomy while remaining part of the same department.

  • Overall organization, usability, and scalability would be significantly improved.

Conclusion: Introducing sub-workspaces within a department would allow for cleaner organization, reduce tag congestion, and better reflect how our department actually operates. This structure would support long-term growth and promote more effective collaboration across offices.
