Today teammate Groups can be used to grant access to a Workspace with the default access role. This means that if an admin wishes to grant any other role with a teammate Group, they must assign it to users individually. This can becomes messy and inefficient with large numbers of teammates, and reduces the benefits of using teammate Groups.
We could allow a role to be selected when granting a teammate Group access to a Workspace, making permission management more scalable.
Seconding this idea - I have a scenario where a team needs to be given 'View Only' type access (a custom role - they can view inboxes and add comments, but can't send messages, etc) to multiple different workspaces, which becomes quite inefficient and intensive to process manually.
Having a default role would be great. We use custom permissions and today when adding a teammate group to an inbox I need to go to Roles & Permissions and update all users that I add. It is not that crazy, but makes onboarding/migration to Front that more labor intensive for the admin.
