Current Limitations:
The thread filter only allows searching by specific tags. There’s no option to exclude threads that contain certain tags.
Filtering is based on the latest message date, but not on when a tag was added.
Rules only apply to actions going forward—there’s no way to retroactively remove a tag that was added in the past, even if it no longer meets the rule criteria.
Proposed Enhancements:
Tag Exclusion: Add support for filtering out threads that contain specific tags (e.g., exclude threads tagged "closed" or "spam").
Tag Date Filtering: Allow filtering based on the date a tag was added to a thread.
Rule Review / Tag Removal:
Add a way to check rules retroactively to see if previously tagged threads still meet the criteria.
Allow admins to remove tags automatically when a rule’s condition is no longer met.
Why It Matters:
Enables more flexible, precise filtering and better dashboard/report customization.
Helps track and audit thread states over time (e.g., when something became a "priority").
Reduces tag clutter and improves tagging accuracy by automatically cleaning up outdated tags.
Supports more reliable automation, especially for workflows that depend on tags staying up to date.
Those actions can be taken without having to create a rule, only by being able to better filter the tags as it can be for one-time events.
