Description: Be able to search for conversation that DON'T have a specific keyword. Exclude results containing a keyword from the search results by typing '-' before the keyword.
Example use cases:
Search for an open email from outside your organization with 'is:open -@domain.com'
Filter out emails about "meeting" but not related to "budget"
Filtering out for emails bringing a lot of noise, like my "daily capacity report email"
Clarify context with keywords that can have different meanings, for example, searching for "apple" in the context of food and not technology, you might search "apple -iPhone -Mac"
Avoiding certain senders by searching for "invoice -[supplier's name/email]"
Benefits:
More precision in results
Supported:
✅ Exclude a keyword from the results by typing -keyword
Not yet supported but in the backlog for incremental improvements:
🔄 Exclude a phrase by using quotation marks -”this is a phrase”
Not supported:
❌ Not possible to search with only a negated keyword. For instance, is:archived -world will be interpreted as is:archived
❌ Not possible to do a search removing a prefix match -pre*

This feature request is being progressively released. It will only support keyword negation using '-' before the keyword. For example search -keyword
Here is the feature request about filter negation if you want to follow / upvote it https://front.ideas.aha.io/ideas/PRD-I-3194
+1 to this. Waiting for the feature.
Hi there - adding in filter negation would be SO helpful in my daily workflow as a CSM! Thanks for considering it!
