Summary:
Allow automations in Front to detect whether a conversation is followed/subscribed by a user or teammate, and act based on that.
Feature Request:
Introduce a new automation capability that can check:
If a conversation is followed by me
If a conversation is followed by any teammate
If a conversation has no followers
If a user has already been notified / subscribed
This should be available as a condition/trigger that can be used across automations
Use Case:
We use “following” (subscription) as a core workflow signal to indicate ownership or awareness of a conversation.
We want automations like:
Only notify or assign if no one is following
Avoid duplicate alerts if someone is already following
Route conversations differently if they already have internal attention
Trigger actions only if I have (or have not) been notified
Current Limitation:
There is currently no way to use follow/subscription status in automation logic, which leads to:
Duplicate notifications
Manual checks before acting
Less reliable ownership tracking
Inefficient workflows
Why This Matters:
“Follow” is a fundamental behavior in Front, but it cannot be leveraged in automation today. This limits the ability to build smart, scalable workflows.
Suggested Solution:
Expose conversation subscription/follow status as a native automation condition or trigger that can be used across all automation tools in Front.
Impact:
High — improves notification control, reduces noise, and enables better ownership-based workflows across teams.
