Support wildcard (*) in search queries and filters

Wildcard (*) searches don't reliably return results with word variations and truncations.

Improve wildcard support in search queries and filters to return all relevant word variations.
The lack of this functionality is a huge issue when handling ordernumbers, invoice numbers, serial numbers etc in the daily communication with customers. These numbers can vary with prefixes or suffixes sometimes left out in the communication. Being able to search for the "key" number string and get a match is very important.
This should be a basic functionality already in place
