Calendar notifications sent by an email and as a pop up

This would be really helpful if calendar notifications can be sent also as an email. Many times I get pop-up notifications on my computer, but if I am really busy I just click the x and get on with what I was doing. Often time resulting in that event or notification being forgotten.

If notifications can also be sent as emails that would be fantastic because I am always on my email and can revert back to it if needed.
