Problem
Rules and auto-replies use the From field, ignoring the reply-to field — automated responses go to the wrong address when reply-to differs from the sender.
Request
Allow rules to match on the reply-to field and use it as the destination for auto-replies.
Another idea got possibly wrongfully merged into this, and I wanted to speak up in favor of that specifically: Having a "Reply-To field contains" condition (and building that into the existing 'From field contains' filter) would be extremely helpful.
Currently, I'm having to use the 'Header Contains' condition for finding emails that hide "do-not-reply" in their reply-to (google does this). Because of the way that the 'header contains' condition is built, I can't glob. I can either explicitly search for an entire string, which is a no go (Reply-To: [some string I don't care about and may vary] <do-not-reply@), or I can search all keys for a value containing 'do-not-reply', which is a bit riskier and a blunter tool than I'd like.
Upvoted, should be a simple implementation .. Let's GO! :)
This is still a problem please fix
I'm not quite sure why this has been on the waiting list for over 3 years given that it is basic feature that would allow applying rules to all form submissions received in Front. My team is unable to use most of automation functionality due to lack of 'reply to' logic and since Front was only implemented to assist with automation of tasks, I do not see why keeping this app now if we still have to complete most tasks manually like we would do in G-mail or Zendesk.
I have a need for this type of feature, and it's disappointing to see it's been sitting for 3 years.
Using the "reply-to" field should be default/take precedence IMO. Otherwise, ability to configure this would ensure VIP Contacts or Accounts could be correctly identified, plus enable auto-drafts/auto-responses.
